Chandler Brayboy, an undrafted free agent wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars, showcases impressive stats from his college career, making him a potential sleeper pick for punters. His YAC ability and special teams contributions might influence betters to consider Jacksonville's depth at receiver and their chances in the upcoming season.
Going offseason programs now behind us, we will be getting a jump start on our training camp preview by going player-by-player through the Jacksonville Jaguars' 91-man roster.
Going alphabetically, up is UDFA wide receiver Chandler Brayboy.
Chandler Brayboy's profile Height: 6-1 Weight: 199 Age: 23 NFL experience: Rookie College: Elon
No. 152024 Snap Count totals in college Offense: 563 Special teams: 49
2024 PFF grades Offense: 75.7 Special teams: 62.5
2024 Season Review This past season was a career year for Brayboy, who had 90 targets, totaled 979 yards, and scored eight touchdowns. Among eligible wideouts at the FCS level, Brayboy was one of the best at picking up YAC, ranking 12th in that category, averaging 7.4 yards after the catch, per PFF.
Brayboy played six seasons at Elon and was a regular contributor on offense over the last four. He has experience lining up both outside and in the slot. Along with his contributions on offense, Brayboy was a kick returner as well. This included averaging almost 36 yards per return this past year with two touchdowns.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season We know at the receiver position for the Jaguars that the first four roster spots are accounted for between Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown, and Parker Washington. Depending on whether the Jaguars roster five or six receivers, that leaves one to two spots up for grabs.
With this being a fairly inexperienced position group beyond the top four on the depth chart, that creates opportunities for undrafted rookies, like Brayboy, to make a mark. In doing that, special teams contributions will be a key part of that equation since that is likely where the bulk of the playing time will come from for the fifth and sixth wideouts on the depth chart.
With that said, given what we know right now, the practice squad is the likely ceiling for Brayboy in Year 1. For starters, he's making the jump from the FCS level to the NFL, and landing on the 53-man roster includes surpassing an experienced player like Trenton Irwin, along with Josh Cephus, who is a returning player and has caught some attention during offseason programs.
