Knicks make trade for former NBA first-round pick | Sporting News

The New York Knicks' acquisition of Romeo Langford's G League rights presents an intriguing opportunity for sports bettors. If Langford shows signs of a comeback during training camp, it could boost the Knicks' depth and overall performance, potentially making them a stronger contender. Punters may want to monitor Langford's development closely, as his successful integration could influence the Knicks' odds for the upcoming season.

The New York Knicks have made some interesting moves this offseason and just made another. Over the past few weeks, the Knicks haven’t done much in terms of big splashes. While the Knicks hired Mike Brown to be their next head coach, their big moves in free agency have simply been to add Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele.

While those deals will certainly help the team, the Knicks recently made another move that could make a difference if things work out right. The Knicks’ G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, announced on Tuesday that the team had traded for the returning rights of Romeo Langford.

A former first-round pick for the Boston Celtics in 2019, Langford’s time in the league didn’t go as planned to begin his career. Langford spent a couple of seasons in Boston before getting dealt to the San Antonio Spurs, where he last played an NBA game in 2023.

After spending the past two seasons without seeing any NBA action, this move could be the next step toward Langford making an NBA comeback. Although the Knicks are looking to compete for an NBA title, any added depth could make a difference over the course of an 82-game season.

While Langford was only traded to the Knicks’ G League squad, that could open the door for Langford to join the Knicks in training camp and potentially compete for a spot on the official roster.

Only time will tell how this deal ends up for Langford and the Knicks, but the former lottery pick might have an NBA home again soon.
