Alejandro Garnacho sends Man United one-word message amid fresh transfer uncertainty

Alejandro Garnacho's ongoing uncertainty about his future at Manchester United, alongside discussions with Chelsea, could affect his value and betting odds, suggesting a potential outcome as a transfer away from Old Trafford appears imminent.

Alejandro Garnacho has issued a message on social media as uncertainty over his Manchester United future continues to build. Colleagues at football.london understand that the forward has begun discussions with Chelsea as his goal is to stay in the Premier League.

Garnacho's future at Old Trafford after the Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur in May. The Argentine voiced his frustration at not having a more significant part in the match during a post-match interview.

Earlier in the day, he had shared a photo of himself celebrating his goal in the 2024 FA Cup final against Manchester City under Erik ten Hag. The Manchester Evening News reported at the time that Reds boss Ruben Amorim had advised Garnacho to consider a move away from the club this summer.

After the summer holiday, Garnacho informed United that he wanted to leave, along with four of his other teammates - Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Marcus Rashford, with the latter joining Barcelona on loan. The Reds academy graduate was given an extended summer break to assist his search for a new club, but he soon returned to Carrington to embark on an individual training programme.

Garnacho did not participate in the summer tour of the US and it now appears that steps are being taken to conclude his stint at the club with Chelsea reportedly agreeing personal terms. And the 21-year-old appears to be working hard to stay fit, posting a picture of himself in the gym on his Instagram stories. Garnacho's post was accompanied by a caption that read, "Work."

It has been previously reported that Chelsea are reluctant to shell out more than £30million on Garnacho in the summer transfer window, which is less than what Napoli offered for him in January. That bid was believed to be closer to the £40m mark.

Amorim stated earlier this summer that United's wantaway players could have a future at the club if their transfer asking price is not met. Asked if the club was concerned about losing value on those players in order to sell them, he said: "That is not the case because there are different reasons for the players [wanting to leave]. Some players have to find a new place to have space in the team. Other players show they want a new challenge and a new team.

"We are just allowing these players to think and decide. If they reach a point where they will have to join the team, they will join because they are our players. I know for a fact Omar (Barrada, CEO) and Jason (Wilcox, director of football) and the club have a number (price) for these players. If they don't reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that.

"I understand other clubs are maybe waiting for the last minute, but they can have a surprise. I'm ready to receive the players. They have more competition. If they want to play in the World Cup, they need to play. I'm happy with that because I'll have more options. If they have to fight each other to play, for me it's perfect."
