Benjamin Sesko's transfer to Manchester United could lead punters to better betting odds on the Red Devils’ performance, especially with the team bolstering their attacking options, aiming to improve from their last season's disappointing goal tally.
Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have both shown their approval on social media for the imminent high-profile transfer of Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United.
The Red Devils have already significantly strengthened their attack this summer, securing deals for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
As the new Premier League season approaches, it was revealed last month that United had pinpointed Sesko as their top No 9 target.
Sesko, 22, has been in high demand this summer, with Arsenal - who opted for Viktor Gyokeres instead - and Newcastle also expressing interest in the Slovenian international.
However, United have emerged victorious in the race for Sesko's signature, agreeing a deal just shy of £74million, including add-ons, for the RB Leipzig striker.
News of the agreement broke on Thursday afternoon, with Sesko expected to complete his move before the weekend.
Some of his future team-mates have already reacted to the news. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Hojlund had liked a social media post confirming Sesko's impending arrival at Old Trafford, and it has since emerged that Zirkzee has done the same.
Both players had a challenging time finding the back of the net last season, hence United's efforts to bolster their attacking options during the summer transfer window.
In total, United only scored 44 goals in the Premier League across 38 games, resulting in their lowest ever finish in 15th place.
Only Everton and the three relegated teams - Southampton, Ipswich Town and Leicester - scored fewer goals.
Amid talk that United's chase for Sesko might push Hojlund closer to the exit door, the young Dane has made it clear he's not looking to leave and is determined to fight for his place in the squad.
"I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens," he said.
"I'm still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I'm only 22. Obviously, not every striker is scoring 100 goals at the age of 22 (like Erling Haaland).
"But I've learned a lot, I think you can see in my game. I'm starting to develop and become even better in the basics.
"Now it's just about for me to sharpen myself and I've done very well in the pre-season so far. Just focusing on continuing that.
"Competition is fine with me. It sharpens me. I'm more than ready. I'm feeling sharp, so I'm welcoming everything that comes.
"I think it's good with competition and it only sharpens the team."
Benjamin Sesko is on the verge of completing his £74m move to Man Utd.
