This marks his fifth event of the season, where he hopes to build on his impressive performances, which include breaking the 90m mark for the first time with a throw of 90.23m in Doha. Despite this achievement, he finished second to Germany's Julian Weber, who recorded a world-leading throw of 91.06m. Chopra also placed second to Weber in Poland before securing his victory in Paris with an opening throw of 88.16m. This upcoming meet will be his first appearance at the Ostrava Golden Spike, and it will be streamed live in India on World Athletics’ Inside Track. Notable competitors include Germany’s Thomas Rohler and Grenada’s Anderson Peters, both of whom have personal bests exceeding 93m.

It will be his fifth competition of the season. He started the year with an invitational meet in Potchefstroom, South Africa, where he won with a throw of 84.52m. At his Diamond League opener in Doha, he broke the 90m mark for the first time with a throw of 90.23m, bettering his previous best of 89.94m. Despite the milestone, Neeraj finished second to Germany’s Julian Weber, who threw a world-leading 91.06m — also his first 90m+ throw. After Doha, Neeraj competed at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Chorzow, Poland, where he (84.14m) against finished second to Weber (86.12m). Neeraj finally beat Weber at the Paris Diamond League on Friday as the Indian topped the field with his opening throw of 88.16m. Neeraj’s event - men’s javelin throw - at the 64th Ostrava Golden Spike will begin at 10:30PM IST on June 24 (7PM local time). In India, the event will be streamed live on the World Athletics’ Inside Track . Neeraj previously competed in Ostrava in 2018 at the IAAF Continental Cup where he finished sixth with a throw of 80.24m. However, at the Ostrava Golden Spike, it will be his first-ever appearance.
